This being human is a guest house

group exhibition at Cinemaximiliaan, Brussels
2019

This exhibition was curated by Agata Jastrząbek with artists  Maria Kley, Dorota Jurczak, Ali Sabri, Aukje Koks, Gwendolyn Lootens, Filarowska, Tanguy & Victor, Hooman Jalidi
It was accompanied by a text from the poet Rumi, 'The Guest House'.

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Portrait of a Banker?
solo exhibition at De Nederlandsche Bank, Amsterdam
2019

For this exhibition I focused on showing fragments of a man of status. I combined the drawings and paintings with works of glass that I designed and fabricated at Het Glazenhuis in Lommel, Belgium.

Solo zomerresidentie
Solo exhibition at a former chapel in Machelen BE
2018

This project is a collaboration between studio organizations NUCLEO from Ghent, Studio Start from Antwerp and Cas-co from Leuven, in alliance with the Roger Raveel Museum.
Out of an open call I was selected by an external jury to work in a former chapel next to the Roger Raveel museum in Machelen aan de Leie for a period of a month. A beautiful text about the work made there was written by Louise Osieka.

Het Glazenhuis, Lommel
residency, august 2018

Out of an open call I was selected to work at Het Glazenhuis in Lommel. With the collaborative help of master glass blower Mathieu Grodet (FR/CA) I was able to realize some elements taken from previous paintings.
