Left: A wallpainting of fragments of a door. On the door are hanging 'notes to self'. One note says 'focus', the other note says 'machine, tournez vite', after Picabia's drawing of a machine.   
Right: An installation of cut-out pieces of painted linen eventually became a painting. Two books are depicted, one is Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit, discussed in the reading group I was in at the time of painting, the other is a book of works by Raoul de Keyser, lent by a colleague.
